This collection consists of photostatic copies (positive and negative) of Revere's account book, 1784-1793, located in the Masonic Temple, Boston, and misc. documents, 1776-1935, primarily photocopies. The account book contains dated lists of materials ordered from his foundry (e.g., latches, hinges, cannon), engravings and silver items, with their cost and purchaser's names, including Samuel Hichborn and Samuel Adams (1722-1803). The volume also contains an account of all supplies and labor costs necessary to run a foundry, a letter concerning the sale of his hardware in Richmond, Virginia, and occasional personal expense accounts. One section is devoted to Revere's duties as treasurer of the masonic lodges of St. Andrew and Rising States, 1784-1785, with lists of cash outlays and income. The folder includes photocopies of an 1818 inventory of Revere's estate, his own account of his famous ride, a list of his services to the state concerning the copper-plate engraving and printing of money, 1776-1781, letters to Isaiah Thomas (1749-1831) relative to masonic lodge business, and petitions by Revere to Congress requesting the imposition of duties on copper imports, 1807-1810. Several original items include receipts for silver and copper goods, 1791-1800, sold to Artemas Ward (1727-1800) and others, and a few letters, 1931-1935, written by lineal descendants of Revere with reference to their illustrious ancestor.
